"Melikhovsky Spring" Festival
 Classical plays are performed on the estate's several stages; Chekhov's works date back to the very beginnings of the Russian theatrical tradition. The village drama theatre on Anton Pavlovich's estate has been turned into a amphitheatre where fire roars and all around are hats, umbrellas, gentlemen's daughters, applauding priests, and flowers for the performers.
